A Peek to the Other Side

If you climb Inwangsan, a mountain slightly to the west of Seoul, you will find the historical Seoul fortress wall, Hanyangdoseong, which was built in 1396 to protect the city. This wall extends around the perimeter of what was originally defined as Seoul, a significantly smaller area than the metropolis known today, but nonetheless runs 18.6 kilometers. This view looks in toward the city through one of the embrasures in the wall.
